China has become a veritable "manufacturing power". The output of more than 220 industrial products ranks first in the world, the net export of manufacturing ranks first in the world, and the added value of crane manufacturing industry accounts for 20.8% in the world.

Ma Jiantang, director of China's National Bureau of Statistics, recently wrote a paper describing the country's economic achievements over the past 65 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, saying that "the Chinese people have created an amazing 'Chinese miracle' in the history of world economic development with their diligence, tenacity and wisdom."

The article said that after the reform and opening up, China's industrial strength and competitiveness have been further enhanced, "Made in China" enjoys a worldwide reputation, and its industrial structure has moved from a single category to a complete one, from low-end manufacturing to medium-high-end manufacturing. According to the World Bank, China's manufacturing value-added accounts for 20.8 percent of the world's total.

According to the data of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Industrial competitiveness Index of China ranks 7th among 136 countries, and the net export of its manufacturing industry ranks first in the world.

According to the international standard industrial classification, China ranks first in seven out of 22 industrial categories, and ranks first in the world in the output of over 220 industrial products, including steel, cement and automobiles.

In recent years, China has been upgrading from "Made in China" to "Created in China", and has put forward the strategy of innovation-driven development. In 2013, the government spent 1,184.7 billion yuan on research, experimentation and development, a 33-fold increase over 1995 and an average annual increase of 21.6 percent. R& D Expenditure accounted for 2.08 percent of GDP, an increase of 1.51 percentage points over 1995.

Ma Jiantang pointed out that the remarkable achievements of New China's economic development lie in the "four consistent adherence" : first, the Party's leadership; second, the socialist system with Chinese characteristics; third, the liberation and development of social productive forces; and fourth, the reform and opening up.
