In 2008, China's construction crane (mobile crane) industry experienced ultra-rapid development in the first half of the year. In the second half of the year, with the outbreak and spread of the world financial crisis, the impact on China's economy gradually appeared, and China's crane market also began to slow down the growth rate, and even a serious decline, but from the perspective of the whole year still maintained a positive growth.

According to the statistics of the Construction Crane Branch, the sales revenue in 2008 reached 27.27 billion yuan, up 60.2% year on year, and the total profit reached 2.61 billion yuan, up 46% year on year. Sales of four categories of cranes (truck crane, crawler crane, truck crane and tire crane) a total of 28,000 units, a year-on-year growth of 12.8%.

Truck cranes (including all road cranes), in 2008 sales of about 21,500 units, a year-on-year growth of 10%. The growth rate is the lowest in recent years, down 28 percent from the growth rate in 2007. The first half of the year saw rapid growth, with sales up 32% year on year. Sales began to decline in the second half of the year. In the third quarter, the growth rate was close to zero. In the fourth quarter, the growth rate was minus 25%, the first negative growth in several years.

Truck crane sales in 2008 4600 units, year-on-year growth of 21.5%. Sales in the first half were up 52% from a year earlier. Growth was just 5% in the third quarter and -11% in the fourth.

Crawler cranes sold more than 1,600 units in 2008 and were the fastest growing product, up 68.9 percent year on year. But it also turned negative in the fourth quarter.

Tire crane sales of only 230 units, the market changes little.

In 2008, the sales volume and sales volume of crane export exceeded that of previous years. The export of construction cranes was nearly 5000 sets, with a year-on-year increase of 57%; Exports exceeded 8.2 billion yuan, up 88 percent year on year, but also declined in the fourth quarter. In 2008, the export of truck cranes was more than 3400, with a year-on-year increase of 45%; More than 800 crawler cranes were exported, up 136% year on year; Truck crane exports more than 600 units, a year-on-year increase of 54%.

With the expansion and extension of the international financial crisis, 2009 will be the most difficult year for our economic development. Our government adopted a series of new policies to stimulate domestic demand and ensure the steady and rapid development of the national economy.
