Kalmar secures additional order for 15 all-electric gantry cranes in Greece

Kalmá has secured an additional order for 15 fully electric gantry cranes from Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) in Greece, a wholly owned subsidiary of COSCO Pacific Limited. This new order has been included in Cargotec’s third-quarter backlog and is valued at nearly €20 million (approximately RMB 140 million). Kalmá previously delivered 12 fully electric gantry cranes to PCT in 2013 and another 9 in 2015.
The PCT Deputy General Manager stated: "The newly ordered gantry cranes are zero-emission, capable of stacking 9+1 containers wide and 6+1 high—perfectly aligning with both our productivity needs and the latest environmental regulations. These innovative Kalmar E-One2 zero-emission gantry cranes will be deployed at Terminal 3, helping us significantly boost our operational efficiency. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, these new cranes enhance productivity, reliability, and flexibility. As with the previous Kalmar gantry cranes delivered to us, this latest model will also be assembled and delivered by Runbang Cargotec Industrial Co., Ltd. We’re thoroughly satisfied with Kalmar’s product quality and their timely delivery."

The newly ordered Kalmar all-electric gantry cranes are equipped with Kalmar's SmartRail automated gantry steering system, ensuring customers can achieve safe operations, high productivity, zero emissions, and reduced operating costs.'"
The Kalmar E-One2 gantry crane boasts a lifting capacity of up to 41 tons. Its efficient electric system delivers zero emissions, zero noise, and zero fuel consumption, while also enabling an industry-leading maintenance interval of 1,000 hours.
The PCT equipment fleet includes Kalmar fully electric gantry cranes, straddle carriers, reach stackers, forklifts, empty container handlers, and yard tractors. The new equipment is scheduled for delivery between 2016 and 2017.
