Online inspection reporting for lifting equipment cuts inspection time in half; web-based inspections for lifting machinery are expected to be rolled out nationwide.
Starting in August, special equipment such as cranes used by enterprises in the free trade zone will be subject to online inspection applications, reducing inspection times by half. Recently, a reporter learned from the Xiamen Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision that, beginning in August, the bureau will implement an online inspection system for specialized equipment utilized by companies within the zone. As a result, crane inspection times will be cut in half—while also enhancing data accuracy and efficiency.
Currently, inspecting the lifting equipment in use requires submitting various paper-based inspection applications and collecting physical reports—processes that often involve multiple back-and-forth trips for the inspected entities. After implementing online inspection reporting, these procedures can now be handled seamlessly through the Special Equipment Inspection Online Service Platform, reducing the overall turnaround time from the original 20 business days to just 10. This not only significantly cuts down on labor costs associated with manual inspections for crane equipment companies but also enhances data accuracy by enabling the system to automatically generate inspection reports, eliminating the risk of human error during data entry. Additionally, the platform automatically produces billing statements, ensuring transparent and open fee collection practices.
Currently, online inspection reporting for special equipment is being implemented only in the Xiamen area of the free trade zone. Once conditions are ripe, it could be rolled out more widely—and there’s even potential for nationwide adoption.
