How are lifting and transportation machines classified?
Lifting and conveying machinery are specialized mechanical equipment that pose significant hazards, commonly used in industries such as machinery, metallurgy, chemical engineering, mining, and forestry—and also in various aspects of human life and production activities—where tasks are performed intermittently and repetitively. These machines lift and move materials using hooks or other lifting devices. With diverse forms and a wide range of types, lifting and conveying equipment can be broadly categorized into two main groups based on their structure and application: simple lifting devices (also known as basic lifting machinery) and cranes.
Crane equipment falls into the following categories:
1. Jacks are classified into rack jacks, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks, and pneumatic jacks, among others.
2. Hoists are categorized into manual hoists, electric hoists, and pneumatic hoists, among others.
3. Winches are categorized into manual winches, electric winches, and more.
4. Elevators are categorized into passenger elevators, freight elevators, and construction lifts, among others.
5. The jib crane is classified into types such as single-leg human-shaped jib cranes and gantry jib cranes.
Cranes can be classified into two main categories, depending on the product's structure, intended use, and conventional practices in domestic production management.
1. Bridge-type cranes are categorized into bridge cranes, gantry cranes, loading and unloading bridges, cable cranes, and bridge-type cable cranes.
2. Rotating types include tower cranes, gantry cranes, floating ship cranes, mast cranes, and self-propelled cranes, among others.
