The 300-million-yuan wind turbine blade production project of Zhongfu Lianzhong Composite Materials Co., Ltd. (Baotou), located in Baotou, successfully broke ground on the 16th at the Baotou Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park. The project spans 246 acres and boasts a total investment of 300 million yuan. It is expected to begin operations by the end of September. Once completed, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 500 sets of blades tailored for 1.5-megawatt wind turbine generators, supporting an installed capacity of 600,000 kW per year. The project is projected to generate sales worth 800 million yuan and create employment opportunities for 500 people. The groundbreaking marks the rapid development of a comprehensive wind power equipment manufacturing industry chain in Baotou—integrating technology R&D, equipment manufacturing, turbine assembly, and wind farm investments—alongside the emergence of a thriving wind equipment manufacturing industrial cluster.

China's top construction machinery manufacturers are now accelerating their global expansion, with a flurry of overseas mergers and acquisitions taking place. While cross-border M&As are no longer unfamiliar to businesses, just two decades ago, Chinese companies typically found themselves in the role of being acquired rather than the acquirers. Today, however, the situation has completely reversed. Experts believe this wave of multinational M&As marks the gradual maturation of China's construction machinery firms—and reflects an inevitable strategic choice for companies navigating the growing globalization of the Chinese economy. Behind the recent surge in overseas M&As within China's construction machinery industry lies a mix of both chance and necessity.
Whether it’s the trend of cities evolving toward more mature and modern forms, or the government’s stimulus investments in infrastructure amid economic crises, both highlight the booming growth of lifting machinery. From control systems to drive technologies, the depth of automation product integration in this industry continues to expand steadily. Looking at both the current scale and future growth prospects, these factors clearly underscore the vibrant development of the lifting machinery sector.
The southwestern market has gradually emerged as a key focus for China’s crane industry. Competition in this market is intensifying, with early signs of growing demand for high-tonnage products. Meanwhile, customers are placing increasingly higher expectations on product performance and service quality, driving a trend toward financing leases and more standardized competition. In fact, the Kunming market has already surpassed its annual sales target by 127%, while Sichuan achieved 92%, Chongqing reached 86%, and Guizhou hit 72%. In recent years, thanks to supportive policies such as the Western Development Strategy and the massive 4 trillion yuan investment initiative, investment activity in the southwest region has steadily increased year after year—making this market an even greater priority for businesses.
Exhibition Scope: Lifting machinery includes various types of cranes for different applications—such as gantry cranes, bridge cranes, single- and double-beam cranes, jib cranes, grab cranes, explosion-proof cranes, lightweight cranes, hydraulic cranes, balance lifts, hoists, and more. Additionally featured are port machinery like port cranes, ship-loading machines, ship-unloading machines, rubber-tired port cranes, floating cranes, quay cranes, and specialized port handling equipment, including container reach stackers. Also on display are construction cranes, truck-mounted cranes, tower cranes, crawler cranes, elevators, hydraulic lifting platforms, and aerial work platforms. Lifting Machinery Accessories: Crane cabins, crane motors, crane hooks, weighing systems, crane switches, and more.
On-site demonstrations showcased the digital intelligent crane control system—a nationally patented technology developed by Zhengzhou Marine Science and Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. This innovative system leverages embedded systems, wireless communication, and other cutting-edge technologies to deliver advanced features such as remote start/stop control, safety monitoring, precise positioning, intelligent anti-sway functionality, and comprehensive fault diagnosis. With its compact design, low cost, extended lifespan, and ease of installation and maintenance, the system enables crane integration, digitization, modularity, and lightweight construction—resulting in energy-efficient, high-performance, and environmentally friendly operations. Experts believe that the successful development and industrial-scale implementation of this system will significantly enhance China’s competitiveness in the global crane industry.
